From the quay to a hotel or an airport
The overnight ferry from Newcastle docks in the morning, and cruise passengers come ashore at the Felison Terminal. From there they want to go in every direction: a hotel in Amsterdam, Schiphol, or another airport. We drive to all three.
Being based round the corner makes a difference: no car has to set out from Amsterdam and spend half an hour getting here first. Tell us which sailing you arrive on and we will set the time to match.
If disembarking drags on, the driver waits. A ship is rarely empty to the minute, and he knows it.
IJmuiden no longer has a railway station — passenger services ended in 1983. By public transport, Schiphol means a bus and a change; with us it is one car from your door to the departure hall.

Questions about the ride from IJmuiden
What does a taxi from IJmuiden to Schiphol cost?
€ 72.50 for a car for one to four people, € 92.50 for the van for five to eight. From the terminal you pay the same as from a home address, and the same again for the ride back. Nothing is added at night, at weekends or on public holidays.
Will the driver wait if the ferry from Newcastle arrives late?
Yes. Tell us which ship you are on when you book, and we plan the pickup around its arrival. If docking or disembarking takes longer, the driver keeps waiting for you at the terminal.
Can you take us from the ship to a hotel in Amsterdam?
Yes. From the quay we drive to Schiphol, to a hotel in Amsterdam or on to another airport. For those rides, too, you know the amount before you get in. A child seat or baby seat costs € 12.50 per seat, per ride.
How long does the ride from IJmuiden to Schiphol take?
About 25 minutes outside the rush hour, over 26 kilometres, without a change from your door or the quay to Schiphol. Public transport is another matter: IJmuiden has had no railway station since 1983, so it means a bus first and then a change.
How long does the driver wait at Schiphol for the ride back to IJmuiden?
At Schiphol there is a set waiting time: the first 45 minutes after landing are included, after that € 59.41 per hour applies. We track your flight number, so you do not need to report a delay. Outside the rush hour you are then back in IJmuiden in about 25 minutes.
More than eight of us are coming off the ferry in IJmuiden — is that possible?
Yes, with two cars: the Mercedes V-Class seats eight passengers, no more. Call us on +31 251 74 32 23 and tell us which ship you are arriving on, and we time both cars to its arrival at the terminal. If there are five to eight of you, one van will do: € 92.50 to Schiphol.
Can a folding wheelchair come along from the Felison Terminal?
Yes. On the quay you move across into the car and the folded wheelchair goes in with the luggage; we do not have a vehicle with a ramp. With a wheelchair too, the usual fixed fare from the terminal applies, with no surcharge. Put it in the Note field when you book.
Can we call at an address in IJmuiden on the way from the terminal to Schiphol?
Yes. Enter that address in the booking form as a stop; up to three are possible, in the order you want to pass them. The fixed fare is for a ride without a detour. With a stop the form prices the whole route, from the quay via the address to Schiphol, and you see the price in advance.
