On the upper roadway at Departures 2 a car may stop briefly to pick someone up, so the driver can pull up as soon as you are outside. Not yet. Only business and private flights depart at the moment; for the first holiday flights the minister is aiming for October 2027. Until then you fly on holiday from Schiphol, Rotterdam or Eindhoven. ### Where do you set us down? At the General Aviation Terminal, Arendweg 7: that is where passengers get in and out. If you are going to the Aviodrome, we drive on to the museum entrance. ### Will you drive a group to the Aviodrome as well? Yes. Eight people fit in the Mercedes V-Class. The route runs along the A8, the A10 ring road and the A6 past Almere. From Purmerend it is a little shorter, from Egmond aan Zee a quarter of an hour longer. At night traffic flows freely; by day it can build up around Amsterdam and Utrecht. ### Do you drive in the middle of the night as well? Yes, at any hour and with no surcharge for the time. At this airport a departure during the night is the rule rather than the exception. ### Where do you set us down? At the Kiss & Ride in P1, the car park directly in front of the terminal; the airport does not allow drop-offs on the forecourt. All flights leave from that one terminal, and you are there in a minute. ### Do you pick us up again as well? Yes, for the same amount. With your flight number we track your flight, and the driver adjusts if you come in later. He calls or messages you as soon as you have landed. ### What time does the Eindhoven terminal open? At 04:30, and it closes at 23:00, according to the airport itself. For the pickup time, what counts is when you need to be inside, not the opening time. ### How many people fit in one vehicle? Waiting caused by a delayed flight costs nothing extra, and the first 45 minutes after landing are included; if it takes longer, the statutory maximum waiting rate of € 59.41 per hour applies from then on. No surcharge for the night, the weekend or a public holiday. ### What happens if my flight lands late? Then the driver stays put, and waiting caused by the delay costs nothing extra. After landing the first 45 minutes are included as well; if it runs on beyond that the waiting rate starts — but you are not left without transport and you do not have to book a new ride. Give us the flight number when you book and we track the flight. ### How long does the ride take? About an hour and a quarter from Schiphol, over eighty-five kilometres. Outside the rush hour that is a reliable figure; northbound in the morning rush it rarely jams, but around Amsterdam traffic can build up. We work back from the time you need to be there. ### Where at the airport do you set us down? At the terminal building at Luchthavenweg 10A. Den Helder Airport has one terminal, with check-in desks, security, customs and passport control; the helicopter operators fly from there. ### How much luggage can come along? The car takes four people with their cases. For five or more, we send the Mercedes V-Class: eight seats with the luggage in the boot rather than on anyone’s lap. Offshore kit is bulky, and that car is built for it. ### Do you drive back from Den Helder to Schiphol as well? Yes, at the same amount per one-way trip. Reckon on about twenty minutes. The driver stays put and then goes on to Schiphol. If it overruns, we wait longer too — we leave nobody standing at the quay. ### Does the crew still get a passport stamp? No. Since 10 April 2026 the Entry/Exit System has been in force across all Schengen countries and stamping has been abolished. Instead the journey, the document, a fingerprint and a facial image are recorded digitally. So the check itself is still there, and it takes longer rather than shorter. ### How many people fit in one car? One to four in a saloon or estate, five to eight in the Mercedes V-Class. With more than eight we send two cars and they travel together. ### Do you arrange the paperwork as well? No. We drive and we wait; visas, immigration and reporting to the authorities stay with you or with your agent. That is a deliberate choice — we are a taxi firm and not an agency, and that way you know beforehand. ### What does it cost? € 100 for a car with one to four people and € 135 for the van with up to eight, both VAT included and both directions — from the quay to Schiphol and back. No surcharge for the night, the weekend or a public holiday. ### Why is IJmuiden cheaper in the fare table? Because that is a different kind of ride. The table covers an ordinary ride to Schiphol: get in, drive, get out. Crew transport adds a stop at border control with the driver waiting there. Twenty minutes of waiting at the official rate costs nearly twenty euros, and that is roughly the difference between the two amounts. ### Can it be outside office hours? Yes. A ship arrives when it arrives and a flight leaves when it leaves.
